When do you meet?


We meet every Monday at 6:30pm except for certain holidays. Guest are welcomed to attend “regular meetings”. The second Monday of the month is reserved for members only. Take a look at our calendar for more info.




Where are you located?


We are located at: 283 Lexington Avenue
(Between 36th & 37th Street) New York, NY 10016 When you arrive, please walk up the stairs to the 2nd floor and enter the room located on the left side of the hallway.




How can I attend as a guest?


We require all guests to be registered on our Eventbrite Guest Sign Up to attend our meetings. Please register in advance for a Regular Meeting via the "Guest Signup" button on the homepage or through the Calendar page, selecting the Registration link under your desired date. Note: Please come by 6:15 pm to secure a seat. Doors close at 6:30 pm. If you arrive after 6:30 pm, you will forfeit your seat and be turned away.




How do I become a member?


NYTM is quite popular and in order to serve our current members effectively, we've had to significantly limit the number of new members we admit. Please understand that there is an application process and a waitlist to join NYTM. There are hundreds of Toastmasters clubs to choose from in Manhattan. If you wish to get started right away check them out by using the Toastmasters' "Find a club" feature.

That said, here are the basic steps to apply for membership to NYTM:
  1. Attend five meetings as a guest. Please note that you have to be registered on Eventbrite for your five meeting attendances to be recognized.
  2. After attending those meetings, contact our VP of Membership, bianca@nytoastmasters.org to indicate your desire to be placed on our waiting list. The average time to become a member is around 3-6 months after you are placed on the waitlist.
  3. Pay our Membership Fee
  4. And finally! Become an active, proactive, and positive participant of our meetings and be a part of our community.




What are your fees to become a new member?


Our membership fees are based off a yearly enrollment. The Annual fee for new members is currently $220/yr. This fee is pro-rated depending on the month you are admitted.




Do you offer private lessons?


We are a non-profit organization and do not offer private public speaking courses.




What is Toastmasters International versus NY Toastmasters?


Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. New York Toastmasters is one of the 16,800 Toastmasters clubs all over the world. The Toastmasters International website provides more detailed information about the organization and how it works.
